About the work: "2 Arhats Meditating Amid the Hellfire of the Mound of the Dead, 2015 focuses on Murakami's Arhat imagery, where Buddhist references and cartoon pressure share the same field. It reads cleanly at first glance, then starts to feel more layered once the faces, signs, and color fields press together."
