About the work: "Holding (Removed), 2026 shows a bright, staged tangle of draped color and thin figure-like forms, somewhere between painting, set and digital construction. Matthew Stone often works with bodies and image-making technology; here the holding feels provisional, as if the scene could be rearranged at any moment."
