Lucas Beaufort is a painter and illustrator whose work grew out of skateboarding culture. His recurring character Gus Gus is an eyeless bird, often pictured carrying a flower, that he associates with peace and tolerance. The figure appears in paintings, public murals and collaborations that retain the movement and sociability of the skate scene.
